A NEW RELIGION THAT WILL BRING YOU TO YOUR KNEES
A NEW RELIGION THAT WILL BRING YOU TO YOUR KNEES
NAME... Verloren
AGE... Three
GENDER... Male
BREED... 3/4 Husky, 1/4 Wolf
PACK... Plaza Hotel
APPEARANCE...Build
He's fairly finely built considering his lineage. His legs are slender, as is his body, though his shoulders are rather broad as is his face. He looks larger than he really is, mostly thanks to the fur, and trust me, all that isn't fur is lean muscle. His paws are also slightly large, and some mistake this for him being younger and not quite full grown yet, though this is far from true.
Coat
His fur is long, though not as long as it could be. He has the traditional husky pattern to his coat as varying shades of brown overlaying a white that's been tinged a bit from dirt and dust. The darker points are a deep rust red shade, while the lighter tints look more like a light orange. He has very faded light brown circling his eyes, giving him a bit of a raccoon look in the right lighting. The fur on his tail is particularly long, giving it a bit of flare, but also resulting in it picking up just about everything on the ground.
Features
Perhaps what stands out most about Lore would be his eyes. Both are a very light blue that, when hit just right, can look almost white. Despite the bright, faded color, they hardly looking menacing or send chills down your spine. If anything, they're surprisingly kind. His ears, in turn, are a bit on the smaller side, though he's quick to defend them with the cliche "size doesn't matter, it's how you use them." For the most part, he's right about that; their size hardly diminishes his hearing, if it does at all.
PERSONALITY...Flirtaeous
If it's canine, and it's gorgeous, he's going to at least flirt with it, whether it be guy or girl. He's perfectly open about it too, though he's only ever been remotely serious with the ladies. Unfortunately, just because he chases doesn't mean he doesn't up and leave just as fast. He doesn't think he has commitment issues, but, then again, he likes to think he's perfect, so there's no real surprise there.
Egotistical
Whether it's true or not, he'll brag about this and that, and make himself sound so much more impressive than he actually is. He could probably be described as vain too, if you felt like thinking about it. It doesn't take much to crush his ego to smithereens, though. Just catch him lying about something, though that alone can be difficult at times.
Sly
Being a self-proclaimed prince of thieves doesn't come without proving it to a few people, and he's got the wit and cunning to prove it to the world. He's small enough he can fit in loads of places, he's got the skill to get in without being noticed, and he's got the acting down pat so good he could get a lead role in a play without trying. It's never his eyes that show he's lying, either. Instead, it's the slightly sinister curve upwards at the edges of his mouth that most would miss anyway.
Show-off
Unfortunately, though he thinks he's amazing, he actually is, too. The praise he gets when he struts his stuff just continues to raise his ego, past the point of no return, and convinces him to keeping showing people how just how very good he is.
HISTORY...Lore was born the runt male in a litter of three pups. His mother was a house dog originally, though her owner had died long before she'd gotten pregnant and she wound up wandering the streets as a stray before anyone even realized. His father was a stray as well, a husky and wolf cross. It wasn't exactly like she was happy about the pregnancy, considering she never saw their father again, but she wasn't about to abandon the pups either. She showed them all the affection she could and provided for them with no help, which was never easy. In the end, only Lore and his brother, Reuben, made it.
Lore stayed small, never quite growing as large as he should have, but this didn't stop him from showing off. Before long, he'd gotten lost among the streets in an attempt to prove he knew where he was going. He never managed to find his mother or brother again, but he was independent enough that he hardly noticed. That is, until he got hungry. He discovered quickly the tricks of the trade when it came to dumpster diving and stealing from hot dog stands. He was a natural as scavenging and before long the only way to tell he was a stray was the tangles in his coat. He wasn't fat, but he certainly wasn't wasting away either. It was during this time he earned the nickname "Prince of Thieves" among the rest of the strays.
But then came the plague. The havoc is caused among the streets was terrifying, and there was nowhere to hide. At one point, he found himself trapped in a burning building. He's still not quite sure how he escaped. For the most part, the riots and life during them is all a blur of terror and panic, with him running for his life, cowering under whatever he could, and hardly eating until it settled down. Not that he'd ever admit to this, of course, and he's already got a great many fanciful tales of heroism that he embellishes on instead.
When enough people died off, it settled down again and then turned into a ghost town rather rapidly after that. Food was easier to get that ever before as there was no one around to guard it. He walked around like he owned the streets, slipped into the Plaza Hotel before anyone could ask what he was doing there. He hasn't yet bothered to try and claim any sort of position in the pack. As far as he's concerned, his reputation speaks for itself and that's more than enough for him. He's flighty enough that if doesn't get any respect at all, he'd just up and leave anyway.
