NAME... Igirisu Cierce. eh gear ee sue seers. His little brother called him Iggy, and his little sister took the much less offensive route with Risu.
AGE... Three years.
GENDER... Male.
BREED... Two thirds Canadian Inuit Dog, one third wolf.
PACK... Loner, may eventually seek a pack.
APPEARANCE...
Head.
Igirisu, unlike his 'older' brothers who were quite bulky and masculine, is more feminine looking - particularly in the face. He has what appears to be the delicate, finely boned structure of what typically appears on the females of the Canadian Inuit Dog breed; nevertheless, he is still rather intimidating and fierce when he wants to be (or, at least, that's what his little siblings - how blessed they were, the little angles! - always told him). Yes, his head is more narrow than most males, yet still retains a distinct wedge-shape. His ears are short, thick, and erect; the tips are slightly rounded. His eyes - the left a dark blue, the right a light brown - are small and set deep, giving him an oddly serious look (until he cracks a grin or smirk, because as bleak as the world may seem, he wants to brighten it for someone - anyone - else). His muzzle is tapered, narrow, and of medium length; the teeth hidden behind his lips are strong, sharp, and primarily shown while laughing or growling at some unseen threat (but he can see it just perfectly, thank you very much).
Body.
He's sure that he looks at least slightly intimidating. Surely he does! His body is graceful, clearly built for work. His legs are long and sturdy, his shoulders set just right, and his muscles are truly toned under his fur. He stands at twenty-three inches at the withers, and weighs in around sixty-five pounds; he may be malnourished, but he can still take on anyone who dares to challenge him - if he, you know, wanted to. His tail is perfectly capable of curling on his back like some purebred, or it can dangle loosely like a wild wolf ( or something, he isn't quite keen on comparisons when it comes to tails ) - he doesn't really care, and it seemingly has a mind of it's own.
Fur.
Igirisu has very thick, dense fur. He appears to have a mane over his neck and on his shoulders, which usually give the illusion of additional size. The fur of his tail is long and slightly feather-like, a bit like the fur around his ears. He appears generally unkempt and messy, and it's coloring is superb for blending in with nothing but snow - white, with tones of silver and gray tossed in at random. At least he's pretty.
Distinguishing Features.
His eyes generally appear wise and kind, and he's quick to become flustered. He's rather adorable, really, not that he'd ever admit it. He also had a collar, once, that he was quite fond of - a martingale collar. A bit of chain hung from it, reminding him that he was a house pup. He lost it sometime during the apocalypse, though he would like to have it back.
PERSONALITY...
First and foremost, there seems to be a method in his madness - and he is, indeed, mad. Quite often he sees things that don't exist - for good or bad, they are there, and he sees them. He laughs with them, talks to them, chases after them; he cries out in terror, growls and snarls and snaps, and runs from them when he realizes that they're something that he can't beat. His little siblings thought that it may be because of the apocalypse, the rising sense of dread and we're-going-to-die, because he wasn't all that out there until the whole mess started, and he got much worse after they were all separated.
He is a very kind dog - usually, and of course in his own special way. He tends to get flustered easily if you compliment on how gentlemanly he's being, and though he won't usually deny someone in need of help, he tries to use a more indirect way of helping them. Sure, he'll walk with you if you don't feel safe, but when it comes to something like food he'd probably drop it with the excuse of "I'm full anyway," or some other absurd lie.
Of course, he can also be quite ill-tempered. He doesn't have much patience for morons, though he can bear them as long as they aren't aggressive. He can become defensive easily, though it's in his nature to be calm; though fighting is not his forte, he loathes to step down from a challenge.
It is hard to describe Igirisu Cierce's personality - something that changes with experience and age. It's best to say that he is rather unpredictable, mad, and has a soft spot for young ones.
HISTORY...
mother Tannia, a Canadian Inuit dog. Was once a house pet, but was left behind with the pups when the family moved. Had another litter - of two - with a Tamaskan Dog. Died before the apocalypse.
father A Canadian Inuit dog and wolf mixed breed that went by the name 'Cierce'. Tannia met him before her family moved away; he died before the pups were born.
brothers Scotialar Cierce and Wae Cierce. Cruel, vicious, and presumed dead. Igirisu has not seen them since he ran away with his little half-siblings.
little brother Sea Cierce. A Tamaskan dog, Canadian Inuit dog mix. Igirisu was taking care of him until they were separated during the apocalypse.
little sister Sey Cierce. A Tamaskan dog, Canadian Inuit dog mix. Igirisu was taking care of her until they were separated during the apocalypse.
Tannia was a house dog, though spent much of her time chained or left alone to roam the wide expanse of her backyard. Her owners were retired dog breeders and trainers, and she was quite well versed in the you do as I say and get a reward consisting of my love, or I'll beat you method her owners used to keep her in line. Thus, it was quite some time before she actually met the handsome stranger that she'd see from her property line.
He approached her. He was a stray, a mixed breed between a Canadian Inuit Dog and a wolf, and he was perfect to her. They often met by the apple tree on her land in the upper west side - and, as most lovers eventually do, they consummated their relationship. Tannia's owners were livid.
Their prized pooch, who they had bred from two very expensive show dogs, was pregnant. Maybe, they thought, we can sell the pups for money. She has lineage! She's registered! But alas, when they saw what they assumed was the father - as it was, you know, because he couldn't stay away - they realized that it was a mutt, and shot it. Tannia was heartbroken.
And so, she had her pups alone beneath the apple tree. There were three; two big brutes and one little... male? He was the runt, and rather feminine, but a quick check provided the information she needed to confirm that yes, he was indeed a little boy, like his two big brothers. She named them all herself, her owners be damned; Scotialar, Wae, and Igirisu. That, however, wasn't enough - no, she remembered that the show dogs her owners had bred to make her ( she oft refused to call them her parents, because where was the love? ) had had second names, usually a title or the name of a parent.
Cierce. It became their second name, distinguishing them from the rest of the dogs around, with their fluffy, uppity names like Tiffani and Pookie and... Snookie, that blasted Chihuahua that lived next door and just wouldn't shut up.
Tannia's babies were beautiful. They had their downfalls - the two bigger ones would often abuse the little one, and little Igirisu would often bat at something that wasn't there - but they were perfect! They were quite happy there, their humans having very little to do with them, merely chaining them all close to the tree. Igirisu became very fond of his collar, a martingale that they had bought specially for him because he slipped out of the others. It suited him, he thought.
And so, they grew, but eventually the family moved away. They left the dogs there, chained near the apple tree, but the dogs barely noticed they were gone. They managed to slip their collars - or, in Igirisu's case, break the flimsy, rusted chain - and lived in a picture of family bliss though often the little one wished he could run far, far away from his brothers, but loved his mother to bits and pieces.
Eventually, Tannia was impregnated by a Tamaskan. She gave birth to Igirisu's darling little brother, Sea, and sister, Sey - and they, too, took Cierce as their names, because she never stopped loving him. Mere months after they were born she died, and Igirisu took that as his cue to finally head out, taking his uncorrupted and innocent little siblings with him.
It was hard, life on the streets, but they soon adjusted. It, however, came too soon - the plague, the apocalypse. They were going to die, they had no where to hide, and amongst the chaos, fear, and oncoming insanity he slipped his beloved collar, and in moments of panicked, rushed thoughts he lost his siblings.
Then, he was alone.
